Now, users can send text messages to mobile phones directly from Gmail by using Gmail Labs’ features. These features combine the best of IM and text messaging where users can chat with friends from computers to mobile phones, and vice versa.
Gmail Labs also allows Gmail users in US to send Gmail messages via mobile phones. And they can use the US phone numbers to send text messages from anywhere in the world. Users can also select a number from contact list to send messages or save a phone number in the contact list. Once users give name for a phone number, the users can start chatting.
